Lesley 
Douglas

Co-founder of Lonesome Pine Productions, Lesley was the BBC's first Controller of Popular Music across all platforms including TV, radio and digital. 

As Universal Music Group's first Managing Director of Commercial Partnerships and Content (Television and Film), Lesley established the first ever Commercial Music Partnership for an Olympic Games (London 2012).

Lesley was also Chief Executive of Lime Pictures, with responsibility for programmes such as 'Hollyoaks' for Channel 4, 'The Only Way is Essex' for ITV2, 'House of Anubis' for Nickelodeon in North America, as well as the US Disney show 'Evermore'.

As founder of Lonesome Pine, Lesley has produced scripted programmes like 'Do Not Disturb' for UKTV, and documentary films on subjects including Roy Orbison (BBC Four), Bruce Springsteen (Channel 4), David Gilmour (BBC Two), and Simple Minds (Paramount+). She also produced 4-part thriller 'The Inheritance' for Channel 5 which aired September 2023.

Aschlin is a screenwriter who has written for many television shows including Channel 4’s ‘No Angels’, Sky Atlantic's 'Mr Sloane', ITV's 'Doc Martin', and Catherine Tate's 'Queen of Oz' for the BBC. 

 

Award-winning writer of the 'Catherine Tate Show', he also created and wrote 'Do Not Disturb,' starring Catherine Tate and directed by Nigel Cole for UKTV.

 

His previous films include the highly acclaimed 'Scenes Of A Sexual Nature' with Ewan McGregor, Tom Hardy, Eileen Atkins and Gina McKee, and the award winning ‘French Film’ with Hugh Bonneville and Eric Cantona. More recently, he wrote 'Swimming with Men' directed by Oliver Parker.

Aschlin wrote and created 4-part thriller 'The Inheritance' for Channel 5, which starred Robert James-Collier, Gaynor Faye, Jemima Rooper, Samantha Bond, Larry Lamb, Kevin Whately, and Adil Ray. 

Aschlin is currently working on a number of other scripted projects at Lonesome Pine.

Ellie

Hill

Ellie is Assistant Producer and Script Editor at Lonesome Pine. She joined the team in 2019 as a Production Assistant.

 

Ellie has worked across both Lonesome Pine's scripted and unscripted sides, and was Script Editor on 'The Inheritance' for Channel 5 in 2023.

 

She previously undertook work experience at Sky, Independent Talent, and World Productions. She graduated from studying Spanish and Italian at the University of Bristol in June 2018.

Owen Courtney

Starting his career at Sky over twenty years ago, Owen has also worked at UKTV and at the BBC as a Commissioning Editor.  Owen has been responsible for commissioning some of the BBC’s most distinctive and successful output and overseeing some of its most respected brands. Working across live performance with the BBC Proms (BBC Two and Four), the Broadcast Award winning Jazz 625: For One Night Only (BBC Four) and Gary Barlow: I’m With the Band (BBC One) he also developed and launched new Factual Entertainment brands including Rock Till We Drop (BBC Two). Owen was responsible for BBC Music Television’s accomplished documentary output including Joan Armatrading: Me Myself I (BBC Four), Roy Orbison: Love Hurts (BBC Four) and the BAFTA nominated and International Emmy winning Freddie Mercury: The Final Act (BBC Two).  Currently at Lonesome Pine Productions he has produced Stock Aitken Waterman: Legends of Pop (Channel Five), and Dolly Parton in Her Own Words (Channel Five).
