Lesley has worked across a number of different companies, sectors and genres at the highest level.
Lesley was the BBC’s first Controller of Popular Music across all platforms (TV, Radio, Digital, Commercial), and built Radio 2 into Europe’s most successful radio station as well as, while Head of Programmes, launching the digital station BBC 6 Music. During her time at the BBC she worked with talent such as Chris Evans, Sir Terry Wogan, Bruce Springsteen, George Michael, Elbow and Neil Diamond.
As Universal Music’s first Managing Director of Commercial Partnerships and Content (Television and Film), Lesley established the first ever Commercial Music Partnership for an Olympic Games (London 2012), including all Ceremonies and Sports Presentation.
She has also been Chief Executive of Lime Pictures – with responsibility for the global children’s drama House of Anubis for Nickelodeon commissioned out of the US, Rocket’s Island for the BBC, Hollyoaks for Channel 4 and The Only Way is Essex for ITV2.
A Fellow of the Radio Academy, she was awarded the top prize at the Music Industry ‘Woman Of The Year’ Awards in 2004, and a BASCA (British Association of Composers and Songwriters) Gold Badge in October 2006. In 2009 she was named by the Guardian as the 9th most influential person in UK media.
